Chicago, IL – Building Blocks CEO Kevin Miske is today’s guest lecturer for architecture students at Washington University in St. Louis. Kevin was invited to speak by Professor Hongxi Yin as part of his “Rethinking Sustainability: Towers at Chicago’s Lakeshore East” course this fall. Hongxi connected with Building Blocks through a friend at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill who referred him to us as GFRC experts. Kevin’s lecture focuses on the high-performance capabilities of glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC). He will discuss the use of GFRC in masonry curtainwall and cladding wall systems. His presentation reviews the manufacturing, system capabilities, and design of high-performance GFRC wall systems with a special focus on their contributions towards a more sustainable built environment.
